Advantages:
Top-quality borderless prints in seconds. The overall photo quality is superb.
Shadow detail is very good, skin tones are accurate, and some users judge
sharpness to be better than other manufacturer's top photo printers. The 8-color
system allows reproduction of a range of colors never before available, except
professionally.
You will save money on ink, as there are 8 individual ink cartridges for the
8 colors used by this printer. No need to discard an entire multi-ink cartridge
just because one color ran out. The software kindly warns you when ink is
running low, and if you run out in the middle of a photo, no problem! Just
pop in a new cartridge and resume printing!
You can connect a Bubble Jet Direct or PictBridge compatible digital camers
or DV camcorder to the Direct Print Port, and print photos without a computer,
if desired. Printer measures 23" x 27" wide with the paper rest
in place and the output tray fully extended.
Canon warns not to use papers thicker than 28lb, but some users have done
so without problems.
This will be faster than your old photo printer. It churns out a super-size
13 x 19" color photo in about 2 1/2 minutes, and 4 x 6's in only 38 seconds.
Drawbacks: Glossy photos are probably good for about 38 years,
not as long as some other photo printers.
